Scootoberfest FlierThe corner of 7th and Market in Perkasie will be the place to be Friday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. if you own a Vespa, Razor, Honda, Yamaha or any of the other popular scooter models. Live music, food, free beer tasting at area stores, vendors, and a chance to meet other scooter owners will make it a special evening.

“Unsafe at Any Speed,” a local band with roots in the 60s folk music movement, will perform live. Featuring Bert Coffman of Perkasie on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, Pete Kellers of Bedminster on bass, and Dick and Helen Weed of Ewing, NJ on guitar, banjo, harmonica and percussion, “Unsafe’s” repertoire includes traditional arrangements as well as occasional medleys and parodies.

Their performances are characterized by crisp, multi-part harmonies and imaginative arrangements filled with humor and a touch of the unexpected. Unsafe At Any Speed is a favorite among fans who enjoy listening to a wide variety of all-time favorite folk and country songs done in a family-friendly, down-home style.

The evening will also include free beer sampling at The Olde Farmhouse Soap Shoppe and Frox, a women’s boutique. A number of other businesses and restaurants will stay open late to offer First Friday specials.

Food and hot apple cider will also be available.

Several vendors offering handmade crafts will also set up at 7th and Market.
